Landing page, website or online store? How to choose what your project needs

Each type of site does a different job. Learn the differences and how to pick the right starting point for your goal and budget.

Many companies start by asking for “a website” without defining what it should achieve. A landing page, a corporate website and an online store are three different solutions, each with its own cost and management effort. The right choice starts with one question: what step do you want the visitor to take?

Landing page: one goal, one campaign

A landing page suits a specific offer or campaign with a single desired outcome, such as booking a consultation or requesting a quote. It’s built around a clear message and a short form, with few links to distract the visitor. It’s fast to launch and easy to measure — but it doesn’t replace a site that presents your company fully.

Corporate website: trust before contact

Customers often want to know a company before reaching out: its services, past work, approach and contact details. A good corporate site organises this so visitors find what they need quickly and are led to a clear next step, such as a contact form or WhatsApp.

Online store: sales and operations together

A store is more than product pages. It involves inventory and pricing, payment gateways, shipping, notifications and after-sales service. Before you start, define how many products you have and how they’ll be updated, who handles orders day to day, and which systems the store must connect to.

Questions to help you decide

  • Do customers buy directly online, or do they need to talk to you first?
  • Do you have an upcoming campaign that needs a dedicated page?
  • Who will update content and products after launch?
  • Which existing systems need integrating — payment, shipping, CRM?

Start with what serves your current goal

You don’t have to build everything at once. You can launch a landing page for an urgent campaign, then build the corporate site, then add a store once your sales operations are clear. What matters is a design and structure that can grow, so you never have to rebuild from scratch.
